Bossler Mansion built in 1869 in Dayton, OH

The best example of Second Empire architecture in the city is the Bossler Mansion, which is situated at 136 Dutoit St. and is part of the about 12-square-block St. Anne’s Hill Historic District. It was constructed in 1869. In France, Second Empire architecture gained popularity under Napoleon III’s rule (1852–1870-).
